Skills
JavaHello! I'm Nitin Asthana. I am a Computer Engineering Graduate Student at State University of New York at Stony Brook, New York.
Prior to joining this, I completed my bachelor's from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai in India in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I got a chance to work on several real-life application projects in my undergrads. While working, I realised I am more inclinded towards the software domain. In order to gain more in-depth knowledge, I decided to pursue higher education.
I am interested in learning new tools and technologies. I am very much passionate to work in backend technologies and in the free time I like solving problems and doing coding in Java.
When not coding, I like to travel alot and explore new places. I am a "Tea" person and always ready to catch-up with friends for a cup of tea. ☕

A health application devised to keep the track of the medicine history of the elderly patients and remind them to take the medicines on time using an alarm. The device can alert the caretaker via text message and email. The data of the device can be accessed using the IoT platform called UbiDots. The device was created Arduino mega, GSM modules and some sensors.
Stack: Java (Arduino IDE), Python, Ub-Dots IoT Cloud Platform
sewage detection and monitoring system was created using Arduino UNO, GSM modem, and various sensors. It collected gas ppm values using the sensors. These values were updated using HTTP protocol to ThingSpeak IoT platform and the data was visualised in real time. Threshold detection was applied to enable text message alerts monitor the poisonous sewage gases.
